Generalised anxiety disorder can be difficult to understand because it can change how it affects the way you perceive your body, your emotions and what you are thinking. So, if as an anxious person you are confused, you can understand why. GAD does respond favourably to hypnotherapy together with cognitive behavioural strategies. As an anxious clients you will be shown how to use self hypnosis skills, breathing techniques, and thought strategies, all of which help to regain a sense of self control over unpleasant physiological symptoms and confidence to deal with new/different situations in the future will help you form more effective coping strategies.
